Local History: Cambridge, Maryland

Living in Maryland, Ocean City and the Eastern Shore have been points of interest all my life. When I was a child, my family would venture to Somerset County for camping, crabbing, and fishing. When my parents divorced, my Dad moved to Crisfield, which was about 20 minutes away from where my family used to go camping every year. This has kept me a frequent traveler on route 50, passing over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and journeying along through Easton, and Cambridge. This house was located in Cambridge, and every year it served as a milestone in my 3.5 hour long drive. Less than a year after I took this picture (June 2010), the house was bulldozed and the lot is now empty. The house was signed by Rusty Hastings. photo by killer times.

Nostalgia.

Christmas morning in the early 1980’s- there is a certain nostalgia that I confuse with “holiday spirt” although I can always conjure up some warming nostalgia by looking at old family pictures, trying to conjure up the “holiday spirit” isn’t as easy though….

When the Ink Runs Out (newest zine)

This is my most recent zine-When the Ink Runs Out… It’s full color. The concept came to me when I realized that I could use the color printer in my photography class with no remorse once the teacher left the room. The book consists of a collection of images that came from printing patterns, typography, and photos on my home printer when the ink cartridges would run out of certain pigments- thus the title of the zine. The original prints were 8.5” x 11” and were scaled down to a 5” x 6.5” format.

To order a copy: $5 paypal to bradleyjreiter@gmail.com, also email your shipping address- make subject for email “When the Ink Runs Out…”

Killer Times began with a zine...

September of 2008 I was working as an electrical apprentice- made good money, full paid benefits, and a free cell phone- then the economy took dump and I got laid off. So I used my time off and made a  zine- thus known as the birth of Killer Times. The contents consisted of collages, photos, and music reviews.
